Happy Halloween to us!

Sad will be the day when I can no longer force my kids to coordinate on Halloween. But, that's a sadness for another day... because this year they were all minions! And it was perfectly hysterical.
There is nothing funnier to me than a 16 month minion with an attitude.
What wasn't funny was the weather.
This will go down in the memory books as one seriously wet Halloween. Trick or Treating went on though despite the pouring rain and whipping winds (that sadly enough would NOT allow my beautiful jack 'o lanterns to stay lit!), and the kids thought nothing of it as they tore down the driveway.

As the night went on I got a few stragglers come back home but for the most part, they all hung in there.
Everyone had such a great time, they were totally
soaking wet by the end.... but so so happy.

Fall Adventures with Baby Kate

(who is now not really a baby but still)

We picked about 2 dozen heads off of my frost bitten mums because, what are flowers for if not for picking?

We gave some sass when we were caught picking said flowers.

Rather than stop picking we opted to hide in hopes of going unnoticed.

And when that didn't work, we decide to abort the mission and eat some mud instead.

Alas, that plan too was thwarted. Oh well, chasing after big sister Claire through the street is always a good time.

After the chase we went for a walk to see what we could find buried in the sidewalk cracks. Loot recovered included a broken nerf bullet, an old Skittles wrapper, and a rubber band that was later confiscated before it could be used for evil by various older brothers.

All in all it was a good outing, cut short a little later by some short lived snow and a scrape on the nose.

Claires New Pet

The boys have been on me for a pet (which will NOT be happening). Claire however, seems to be content just making due with what's available... which in this case is baby Kate. She told me that she'll feed her, brush her, and even play fetch with her (which is Claire throwing a toy and chirping out "go fetch baby!", has become their favorite game.)
A better mom might put a stop to fetch...but this one just says ehh,
works for me!

Best "Brothers"

...because in Dannys sweet mind, brother translates as friend, which I find to be the most adorable thing so I don't correct him. Instead, when he whispers in my ear that I am his "best brother", I whisper "you're my best brother too!" right back.
Speaking of friends, these two are becoming quite the pair. On this day Danny taught Kate a lesson in baby wrangling, a skill at which he has grown to be most proficient.

They play together, runaway to the neighbors together, sneak snacks without permission together...he teaches her to smile, and climb, and jump, and how to not eat things off the floor (well, sometimes not eat off the floor).

He's typically very gentle with her and has only put her outside once without my knowledge ..which my motherly intuition tells me that it is all in the spirit of encouraging her independence because according to him, she is after all his "very best brother!"
